Did you know that six abortion-providing or promoting organizations received more than $1 billion in federal funding between FY 2002-2009? Most of this funding went to Planned Parenthood, who performed more than 305,310 abortions in 2007, alone! In addition, Planned Parenthood hasn't even received nearly as much in funding from donations as it has from government grants and contracts (2008).

Paula Brooks, Franklin County Commissioner claims to have a "reputation for strong fiscal prudence," however in 2009 she voted to give even more of our tax dollars to Planned Parenthood. Meanwhile folks in Ohio have been struggling to make ends-meet. Click on read more to read a press release from ORTL that calls on Paula to answer a few questions about her "fiscal reputation."

The Columbus Dispatch recently ran an article about John Kasich's book tour. Unfortunately many Democrats have taken to criticism rather than support for John Kasich and his new book about his journey of faith called "Every Other Monday." Despite this criticism, many, including us at Ohio Right to Life, continue to support Kasich as he works hard to share about his faith with the rest of the country. In the Dispatch article Mike Gonidakis, Executive Director of Ohio Right to Life said:

“We’re surprised that an ordained minister is criticizing someone for sharing their faith in the moving way that John Kasich has," Gonidakis said in a statement. "He should be praising John Kasich for having the courage to bear witness, not slamming him for it. We look forward to reading Ted Strickland’s memoir on his faith journey.”

Now that the primary elections have come and gone, we look ahead to the great responsibility we have which lies ahead: electing pro-life candidates to office. As we saw with the recent unfortunate passage of National Health Care, voting pro-life is crucial in order for the pro-life movement to continue. The largest expansion of abortion since Roe V. Wade came down to just 4 votes; had more true pro-life Congressmen been in office, that expansion of abortion would have never happened.

More than ever, now is the time to step up and make sure your voice is heard in the halls of Congress. We encourage you to vote pro-life this fall by supporting our most recent batch of endorsed candidates selected by our Ohio Right to Life PAC. View this list today and prepare yourself to be a strong voice for the voiceless by making sure our politicians and legislators take our beliefs to heart.
