Hey Pro-Life Buckeyes!
Come attend this event at The Ohio State University:

What: Ratio Christi, a Christian apologetics club, and Students for Freethought, an atheist club, are hosting a pro-life debate!  Seth Drayer from the Center for Bio-Ethical Reform will be leading a  discussion “Abortion: A Breach of Equality?”

Where: 34 Lazenby Hall, OSU

When: This Thursday, May 12th at 7:30 p.m.

Why: It will give you some good talking points on being pro-life, as well as give you an opportunity to weigh in on this important issue with a Q&A following the discussion.

The Pro-Life Oratory Contests strive to promote the ability of high school juniors and seniors to share their pro-life views with others. Although speaking ability is important, this contest also seeks to help teens organize and express their pro-life views. We also strive to give the contestants an opportunity to meet other pro-life teens.

Check out the list below to find your local competition. If there is not a competition being held in your area, contact Erin Cain, by email or by phone at (614) 547-0099 ext. 302.

The state competition will be held on Saturday, April 16th in Columbus, OH.

Last Saturday, Congressman John Boehner (R-West Chester) delivered remarks at the National Right to Life Convention in Pittsburgh, where he received the National Right to Life Legislative Leadership Award for his pro-life leadership in Congress. In accepting the award, Congressman Boehner said:

“The defense of life and the defense of freedom are necessarily linked.  We know this to be true. And if we accept it, then the current political agenda in Washington is a threat to freedom.”

A former Planned Parenthood Director from southeast Texas is scheduled to speak next month in Stark County. Abby Johnson made national news when she resigned from her job at Planned Parenthood last fall. It was after watching an abortion on an ultrasound monitor that she was shocked with the truth about abortion. “I would say there was a definite conversion in my heart…a spiritual conversion” Johnson told Fox News. Johnson has been very proactive over the past six months speaking to people about her experiences at Planned Parenthood. She is also involved in the Coalition for Life, a pro-life group that prays outside the abortion clinic that Johnson used to work for.

Right to Life of Stark County will be holding a Celebrate Life Dinner, with Johnson as the keynote speaker, on Friday, May 14th at 7PM in Massillon, Ohio. General admission tickets are $20 with special pricing for students at $15 and families of four at $60. Order your tickets by May 4th! For more information and to purchase your tickets email exdir@starkrtl.com or visit http://www.starkrtl.com
